It's a WIN-WIN situation

Hi Bobbi,

I just wanted to write you a quick note about something positive for a change!  I just got back in the door after taking Jasmine for her first extended walk around the apartment complex and she did great!  I kept her on a short leash and she pulled very little and responded well when I tugged on the leash each time she started to stray away from my side.  We walked past adults and a few kids with no problems.  She heard a dog bark from inside an apartment and actually tried to hide behind me rather than wanting to investigate and as soon as we passed she went right back to normal.  Also, we passed a woman and a small yorkie walking towards us on the other side of the street about ten feet or so away.  The little dog started yapping and she pulled a bit more but only made a slight whining sound as we walked by, again returning to normal within seconds of passing.  This is such a huge step for her and I'm so proud and thankful for everything you have helped us do with her.  It really makes me believe that eventually she's going to be outstanding on walks.  She's curious but respectful of her boundaries and that's an amazing accomplishment to me haha.  Please feel free to share any info on Jasmine's progress with your clients or the shelters. She is a great example that the often misunderstood shelter dogs and even the pit breeds have huge hearts and simply need to learn how to navigate the world outside a chain link fence!  Hope you're feeling better!  See you soon.

Mystique, now known as Sasha makes Canine Good Citizen.
                                        Bobbi,
I've attached the picture of Sasha that we discussed today.  I visited her three times at ARC, and I don't think she ever sat still for ten seconds!  It was BACK and FORTH and BACK and FORTH and jumping against the fence, and barkbarkbarkbark!  When the ARC trainer brought her out, the first thing she did was jump up all over me.  The transformation through your obedience classes has been wonderful.  She's relaxed and confident and stable now.  Your training has really helped her become part of the family; since she's calm and well-mannered, she can be included in all sorts of family activities.  I'd recommend your classes to anyone; please feel welcome to use my experiences as a testimonial for your training.

Thank you,
Jennifer

Sampson, now known as Apollo passes the CGC. Then began his new adventure in Germany with his new Family. All reports say he made the flight very well and is loving life. Here is Kathy and Apollo's story in her own words. Enjoy.
We found Apollo on line one afternoon while surfing the net for pets. We were immediately taken with the picture of him, and the kind look in his eyes.  I traveled out to the ARC on Saturday for a visit and to see if he was as striking as his photo...and I wasn't disappointed. When I met him, and the chemistry was instant.  He had a softness about him that contrasted with his size, but he wanted to be close to me from the very start.  Taken with Apollo, who was called Sampson at that time, the following week the entire family travelled out to the ARC for a visit.  The handlers were magnificent, and they had such insight on him and his behavior that we were amazed.  Our daughter, Anastasia, who has a way with all animals and aspires to be a veterinarian, wanted him to go home with us that day.  We decided to schedule another meeting, however, to see how Apollo would do with our Morky, Lillie, and to take one final look before committing to adopt him.  It was absolutely incredible to listen to the handlers tell us his family history, his habits and personality.  They were incredibly helpful and kind throughout the adoption process.  On our final visit we met Bobby, who works with the ARC to place animals, and found to our surprise that we would get 4 hours of free training as a part of the adoption process.   We made our final decision and adopted Sampson, who was immediately renamed Apollo, and the extraordinary story of his development began.  Within a few short lessons we all realized he had both talent and ability, coupled with a genuine desire to please. He had endured a tough period when a puppy, but overcame this within a month or two to become an AKC registered CGC, with bright prospects for therapeutic training in his future.  Apollo came to us a shaky, unsure puppy that grew into a confident, obedient and family oriented family member. He's one of us now and we're proud of him, thankful to the ARC and their excellent staff, and Bobby for here skill as a trainer.  We couldn't be happier with the total experience and our wonderful animal.
